Welcome to Missouri State Chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood
There are more than 200,000 P.E.O. members in the U.S. and Canada, including 299 local chapters and nearly 10,000 individual members in Missouri. This website is for active P.E.O. members only. Please visit P.E.O. INTERNATIONAL to learn about our projects – including grants, scholarships, and loans – supporting women in education.
Logging in and updating your profile
New Missouri P.E.O.s initiated AFTER June 1, 2024, should register here to request an account.
The Missouri website is accessible only to active P.E.O. members and, like the International website, now requires individual logins. Please read the instructions below carefully on HOW TO LOG IN or WHEN to REQUEST an account. You can optionally also download/print the slides from the convention workshop.
Nine out of 10 Missouri P.E.O.s have an email address on file and are among more than 9,600 active P.E.O.s in our Missouri website system.
LOGGING IN
- First, use the menu under ACCOUNT and choose Reset My Password. Enter your P.E.O. Member ID OR the email address you believe is on file with International and the system will send you a password reset link. Use this to create your password. (You might have already done this for the International website, but we don't have that information here. You have to create a separate username/password for Missouri.)
- IF you try to reset your password get an error that the reset link is invalid, please send an email to webmaster@peomissouri.org with your MemberID and preferred password and we'll reset it for you. We're having an intermittent issue with cookies, caches, and the firewall that is affecting some users.
- If that doesn't work for you, you might not be in our system. Try the Register link under Account. (There are about 1,000 Missouri P.E.O.s with no email address on file. Another 20 have an email address that was used for more than one person. Email addresses must be unique in our system, so we could not import those users.)
- To register a NEW account (out-of-state P.E.O.s are welcome!), you must have your P.E.O. Member ID ready. This is a 7-digit number on the address label of your P.E.O. Record next to your chapter and state.
- IF your MemberID number is rejected as "incorrect," that means that an account with that number IS already in our system. Send the webmaster your name, chapter, and email address and she will look up your account and email you a password you can use to log in.
- After you register, your new account will be pending until our team can confirm your active P.E.O. membership. Please be patient. We will do this as soon as we can and send you an activation email.
- You will login at peomissouri.org using your email address OR your P.E.O. Member ID as your username (either one will work) and the new password you just created.
UPDATING YOUR PROFILE
Next, visit your profile (under the ACCOUNT menu) and click on the gear and go to "My Account" to complete your profile by adding your chapter and city, your photo, a brief bio, and click on the map (or the locator icon on the top right of the map) and then enter your city to move the marker to your location. You may also optionally personalize your cover image. Click UPDATE PROFILE, and you're done!

Missouri State Chapter and P.E.O. International are making a difference in women's lives! How we do it:
- P.E.O. Educational Loan Fund - low-interest loans for higher education
- P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship - scholarships for women from other countries for graduate study in the U.S. or Canada.
- P.E.O. Program for Continuing Education - need-based grants to women in the U.S. and Canada whose education has been interrupted
- P.E.O. STAR Scholarship - scholarships for exceptional women in their final year of high school
- P.E.O. Scholar Award - substantial merit-based awards for women of the U.S. and Canada pursuing a doctoral degrees
- Cottey College - a nationally ranked, fully accredited, independent, liberal arts and sciences college for women located in Nevada, Missouri
- Missouri P.E.O. Outreach Fund - a Missouri-only project providing one-time or ongoing grants to men and women who are needy and/or infirm
- Nearly 10,000 Missouri women in 299 local chapters across Missouri working together to support these projects and each other.
Our impact: P.E.O. numbers for life-to-date awards from each project's inception:
- ELF (1907): 53,350 loans (up to $25,000 at 2% interest) for over $279,407,000
- IPS (1949): 7,373 scholarships (for foreign students studying in the U.S. or Canada) for over $54,591,000
- PCE (1973): 57,128 grants (up to $4,000) for over $82,619,000
- Scholar Award (1991): 3,150 awards (up to $25,000) for over $42,082,000
- STAR Scholarship (2009): 11,192 scholarships ($2,500) for over $27,844,000
- Grand Total: 132,193 women helped with over $486,543,781

Missouri is home to Cottey College
In 1927, the P.E.O. Sisterhood accepted Cottey College as a gift from Virginia Alice Cottey Stockard. Nevada, Missouri, is its home. This made Cottey College the only nonsectarian college owned and supported by women.
Cottey College is an independent, liberal arts and sciences college for women. Since 1884, the college has offered young women the opportunity to learn and grow into leaders, role models, and confident individuals.
Today, Cottey's unique combination of women's-only education, high academic standards, focus on leadership development, commitment to an international experience for every student, and a motivated, high-energy community is at the heart of its success.
The beginning
P.E.O. was founded on January 21, 1869, by seven students at Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Today, P.E.O. has grown from that tiny membership of seven to almost a quarter of a million members in chapters throughout the U.S. and Canada, with headquarters in Des Moines, Iowa.
P.E.O. came to Missouri on October 3, 1886, when the Missouri State Chapter was organized in Unionville.
